C.C. Lemon: A lemon's worth of vitamin C crammed in every bottle

As I arrived in Japan for the first time back in '05, I was quite thirsty. We were heading back to the hotel and I saw a 7-11 store. Being in Japan for the first time, I looked around for a drink to quench my thirst. The first drink I grabbed was C.C. Lemon, a popular drink made by Suntory. I was quite attracted to the yellow label and color of the drink. Quite frankly I didn't know what it would taste like. I figured it would be sour and tart...

Actually I was quite wrong. The flavor of C.C. Lemon is far from tart or sour. It has a bubbly feeling with a lemon taste that's not too strong. It doesn't have the bite of lemonade or an overpowering sugary taste.  After the first sip, I found it to be quite refreshing. Throughout my trip, I found myself buying many bottles of this lemony goodness. After my trip, I even tried my best to find C.C. Lemon at stores in Hawaii. Though the import taxes drastically increase the price.

Anyway C.C. Lemon is know for the amount of Vitamin C lemon equivalents. For example, 1 bottle (1500ml) would have the Vitamin C equivalent of 210 lemons. Here's a little table for the different drink sizes:

In this blog I shall be writing about various foods from Japan or foods that are Japanese related i.e. Hawaii's Japanese foods. I will also be writing about pretty much anything Japanese. If you're interested, I will be putting some links to where you can buy some of these foods or items =)

Hope it helps because I love Japan and I hope you will love Japan as well.
